Genreally just walking around the Old Port is great. There are great places to eat and all kind of local artistry and shops.
Same for the Plateau area (not as old-worldly but definitely eclectic)
Have a look at the Montreal Sketch Comedy Festival - it's at Theatre Ste Catherine, 264 Ste-Catherine est (514-284-3939) - should be some good fun, and only 12 bucks. The same theatre also hosts Sunday night improv.
Have some laughs to counter all the ricochetting off hotel room walls ...
Two words: SWISS FOOD. Try to find a swiss-french restaurant that offers fondue or raclette. Unbelievably delicious. Well, food of all kinds is fabulous in Montreal. They have these french fries with white cheese and gravy...oh, man. I think it is called Poutine (which sounds vaguely dirty to me...)
The last time I went there was a Picasso retrospective at the museum, which was wonderful. Have a fabulous time - you deserve it, and it's a great city.
Ahhh Poutine...I remember the first time somebody ordered that from me when I was a bartender in Canada (I'm from the states) I must have looked pretty offended because the guy quickly explained to me that he was after grub not my ass.
My sister flies out there for business and she agrees the old part of the city is bea-u-ti-ful! Have an awesome time

Chinatown is great...anyone can tell you how to get there.
Crescent Street is an overpriced tourist trap so I would personally avoid it.

Just returned from a fashion show in Montréal actually. Visit the old part of the city, it's the most gorgeous thing you'll ever see. Especially at night when all the cobblestone streets are lit up with lanterns. Have a nice trip!

OMG I forgot about the poutine! It's part of my every day life so I forget that not everybody eats this.
