Advice
If you are pregnant (especially if you have lost previous pregnancies) it is NOT a good idea to read an article about C-section rates, forcep use, and infant mortality right before you go to sleep.

One might argue it's not a good idea to read that article EVER.

No. But honestly, it's not a good idea to read ANYTHING on pregnancy while you are pregnant. I have learned this the hard way.
But watching "A Baby Story", that is how you should spend your days! :)

Nor is it a good idea, shortly before you give birth to watch the Discovery Health channel when they run a baby marathon of complicated deliveries!!

You're aboslutely right, Torrie. May I also suggest that watching "Rosemary's Baby" whilst pregnant is also a really, really bad idea. Hope you sleep better tonight! :)

This news just in: You're an idiot.
I still love you, though.

No. Not so good.

Agreed!

Oh, yeah, agree like hell.
It is also not a good idea to specialise in obstetric anaesthesia. Where *all you see every day* are complicated deliveries, epidurals for the screaming, prematurity and cesar after cesar after cesar...
And never, never, never look at the 'congenital abnormalities' section of medical textbooks!!

Oh, congratulations Torrie! I missed the news until now! I'm so happy for you!

I go by the mantra "ignorance is bliss," which is why I refused to take Lamase. And you know what? My daughter was born a month early, and I went so fast I didn't even have time for an epidural. And you know what? Everything was fine. More than fine, actually; dare I say "easy"? It may have helped that she was barely over 5lbs, but my angel turns two on Thursday and while not always easy, life with her is pure bliss.
Best wishes!
