Broken Record

I am in constant pain. For the past three weeks or so Ive been having excruciating rib pain.
At first it was just at night, but it has started earlier and earlier everyday, so now it's ALL DAY.
The one good thing about it is it distracts me from my back pain. Yay.

The doctor has no idea why the hell I'm having such severe rib pain.
The pain does not change no matter what I'm doing or what I eat.
The only thing that helps slightly is if I lay down. So, that's pretty much all I've been doing.

I think they are going to do an ultrasound to make sure it's not my gallbladder. Fun.

Oh, and I have a miserable cold too. Thank God for nipple cream. I've been rubbing it on my nose so that it doesn't crack open.

I hope you all are having fun and doing exciting things because then I can at least live vicariously through you.
Feel free to tell me all about your exciting weekend (Sex??? Drugs???- help me out- I'm BORED).

So now do your nostrils get erect if you go in the frozen food aisle?

Woo! I did housework including dusting and taking the stove apart and cleaning all the nooks and crannies. Then I did a few loads of laundry. Then I hemmed some jeans.

I know! Rock 'n roll!

Aw, that sucks. I have no exciting news to share as I've been having excrutiating round ligament pain and the only time I feel good is when I have my legs wide apart. Seriously. Obviously I can't really go anywhere. It would be funny if it didn't hurt. Hope you feel better!

Delurking to say that I have the same really bad rib pain and my doc says that it is splenic flexure syndrome. Google it. Basically it means that the baby is causing your colon to kink in one spot and if anything gets in there (gas bubbles, food), it feels like you are having a damn heart attack. Mine got slighty better during the 2nd trimester but has now returned. Tagamet and Gas X have helped though.

I did develop gallstones during my pregnancy. The pain is underneath the ribcage on the right hand side. The attacks are really, *really* painful. The good news is that if that is the problem, the procedure is outpatient surgery and can be done laproscopically.

Oh, poor you. I'm afraid I don't have anything greatly exciting to report apart from - oh yes, I am going to be a Godmother! My friend had her babies so very early at 27 weeks and little one is now doing so brilliantly. He's home, he's growing and he's gorgeous and I'm going to be responsible for his moral wellbeing. Ahem.

My sister is pregnant...due any day now. She has had the same constant rib pain. Like you, started off at only certain times of the day. Then became constant. She has plead her case to her doc many times. Final diagnosis, remove gallballer. After baby is born. Sucks ass. Don't think I ever want to be preggers:-(

I just found you blog. Congrats but not congrats on the pain. I was sick my entire second pregancy and so I know how you feel. It sucks bad. Its over soo fast though but I know that doesnt comfort you now. I cant wait to see the new one!

Hm. I had that during my 3rd trimester. My lowest left rib hurt like crazy. I found that pushing on it slightly helped. I think the baby was putting all sorts of pressure on it from the inside. Once he descended all was fine. But for a while it felt like it was going to splinter.

Hello, I was doing an internet search on rib pain and came across your blog.
My rib pain started at 25 weeks and now I'm at almost 30 and it's just getting worse and worse. I know it's not gallstones as I had the same problem with my son. I didn't make it past 32 weeks and wondering if the pressure was the cause? Who knows. Anyway, I was wondering if the pain ever got better for you?? Thank you!
