The hits just keep on coming!
My doctor thinks I have bronchitis.
No, I am not kidding.
This is day nine of the cold from hell.
It started off as a sore throat and has turned into constant coughing, and spitting up green stuff.
Three times over the past few days I have vomited up stuff that I can only describe as what it might look like if someone put a gremlin in a blender. It's been fun.
My husband finally convinced me to call my doctor today because I'm getting worse instead of better, I haven't gained any weight in the last week and a half, and I can't sleep because I cough all night.
My doctor prescribed antibiotics today.
She's afraid that if I don't get this under control it will turn into pneumonia. Especially since I can't sit up for more than a half an hour at a time because of my rib pain. (I think I forgot to mention that after consulting with two doctors, my physical therapist, and a massage therapist, they are all in agreement that the rib pain is being caused by a pinched nerve in my back. Not much they can do for it. I had my second acupuncture appointment yesterday- have another one tomorrow- we'll see if that works.)
Lesson learned- you can't plan everything and you can't predict how things are going to go.
I thought I would have a great pregnancy (maybe because my mom did).
I didn't think I would be in constant pain. I didn't think I would have to be on modified bed rest.
I certainly didn't think I would take any drugs. I have taken Tylenol, Benadryl (to try to knock me out so I would stop coughing and get some sleep- it didn't work), and now antibiotics.
I guess all of this is good preparation for when the baby arrives and almost nothing goes the way I thought it would.

I had a horrible cold the entire month of January when I was pregnant. The antibiotics (that I FINALLY took) really helped. I'm sure you will be on the mend soon!

Don't you love that pregnant thing- nothing like aches and pains, getting fat, feeling bloated, feeling crazy, peeing all the time.... I especially loved it when my stomach developed about 50 purple stretch marks- that was my favorite! :-)
I actually have a friend that "loves" being pregnant- LOVES!
But I say that all in good fun, it's not too much longer- you will feel better soon and then have a whole new baby set of problems to deal with- oh the joys!
Take care of yourself!

Feel better! Oh, and I just read your last post outloud to my husband. We were both laughing so hard, but I managed to hold my pee in. :)

Yep. You nailed it. Almost nothing goes the way it's supposed to go with kids, but boy is life fun with them!
And just think, if you decide to do this again, things will probably be different yet again!

Your last sentence said it all: nothing goes the way you planned it. You look after yourself and I hope you feel much better soon.

You could always visit a chiropractor that specializes in pregnant women.

Sorry to hear about this latest blow to the morale. Just think, about ten more weeks left, and then hopefully everything will go back to normal (body wise)! :)

Hope you are ok- no prem labour or something...
Just wanted to say I can't seem to log into Flickr, so I thought I'd tell you your baby belly looks *so* gorgeous- I remember that when you couldn't go to your regular gym class at the start of the pregnancy because of your back you were bemoaning the fact that you wouldn't have one of those 'perfect' bumps. Well, honey, you got one anyway!
God bless

On the up-side they do say that the better your pregnancy the worse the birth, the worse the pregnancy the better the birth. It's all good.
Get lots of rest...
