My friends are AWESOME

A little background-
In 1985 I became a huge Mets fan. In 1986 they won the World Series because of THIS.
I wish every 10 year old's team could win the World Series. It was awesome. I've been a hard-core Mets fan ever since.

So, my birthday is tomorrow, and I'm really not thrilled about it, but my friends insisted on celebrating with me. So yesterday, we had some of our best friends over, and we had a great time.
Two of our friends, Goldner and Rachel, who are hard-core Yankees fans, and yet, have always been supportive of my love of the Mets, gave me the most amazing present- a picture of the moment Mookie Wilson (who my cat is named after) hit the ball between Bill Buckner's legs, signed by both Wilson and Buckner.
I, of course, burst into tears.

Here's the video of me receiving the present:

That made me cry, too, and I don't even like hockey.

Hey, Happy Birthday, mine's tomorrow too! Really beautiful gift and wonderful friends/family. Congrats.

Torrie,
Your friends ARE awesome!
Happy birthday!

This is the sweetest thing. I keep bringing people to show them :)

That is simply awesome!

This made me cry and laugh all at the same time. I SO wish I could have been there. I love you mucho!

Add me to the list of criers. And Willa chanting at the end is just perfect.

wow neato. your friends must also be awesome filmmakers!

and handsome!

SO. AWESOME. and I love Willa cheering :) Happy birthday!!!

That was a really great reaction. Priceless. Good friends hey.

I love how mom's include their kids when opening up their own presents! Love it! You show her your birthday card before you really get to look at it. So sweet.

Aw. And Willa was great in the video too. Apparently she wasn't paying attention to Mommy crying because she's too excited by baseball.

I think it's fitting that you made this Yankee fan cry the first time she ever read an entry on your blog. I'll be back. And yeah, let's go Mets, at least until October.

I love how when you read the card "Ya'll better not make me cry" and welllll, then you opened the gift and that went RIGHT out the window. It's a happy birthday, and, yeah, I was laughing and crying at the same time. I agree with Julie up top ^.

Darn, I can't see the video at work so I'll have to check it out later. But yeah, I'm an East Bay/California girl and have always rooted for the Oakland A's - so at age 9, and old enough to really understand/appreciate the game, was when we won the world series. So I guess I can relate a little bit. I've been a diehard fan ever since and I know I'd love to have memoriabilia from that time.
Glad you got something you love. Happy (belated) Birthday Torrie!

IT WAS SIGNED?!?!?! By BOTH of them?!?! Oh, wow.
I cried too! And cried harder when Willa said its baseball ball. And then more when she started chanting Let's Go Mets!
I would have insisted on celebrating with you too if I had such an awesome gift to give!
